There’s an art to telling your story in a compelling way to communicate your competitive advantage. I love helping clients gain clarity as they align desire, skill, and market value in actionable ways that lead to work they love, work that matters.
My own career story has allowed me to experience many roles: chemist, martial arts instructor, minister, holistic health practitioner, teacher, writer, program developer, career/life coach, business owner, software and web developer. In connecting my own “dots”, the underlying theme in my career is helping people clarify and align personal and career goals with their core values—their Unique Organizing Principle (SM) through body/mind/spirit integration.
Whether as a coach or consultant, I foster transformative partnerships to identify and solve problems, and through listening, observation and inquiry develop action plans and next steps together.
At MB Associates LLC I focus on Strategic Job Search Coaching and helping clients develop an entrepreneurial/free-agent mindset through coaching, workshops and online programs.
I believe our careers have profound influence far beyond earning our daily bread. Career is the “carriage” that supports the rest of our life, not just now but in retirement. Career gives us a sense of purpose, mastery and autonomy, and supports the development of our human, social and financial capital dramatically affecting our quality of life.

As a boomer and entrepreneur, I love working with colleagues in job and career transition as they clarify what they want to do and who they want to do it for. In my experience that’s the hardest part in achieving our career goals. Association Involvement
I'm active in several associations, serving as Membership Chair for the Association of Career Professionals International New England (ACPI-NE), the leadership team of Career Transitions of Greater Boston, a member of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), inaugural volunteer for the Institute for Career Transitions, and Technology Manager for the Retirement Income Industry Association (RIIA).
I’ve assisted in the development of several software applications/solutions including the Appia Workspace — an online platform to help people focus on content as they develop their career stories. Deborah Burkholder and I co-founded getAppia.com.
